SION60 is thrilled to be working with a large Massachusetts hospital network on a major supply chain project. Some background. . . healthcare produces 9% of the carbon emissions in the US. If the industry was its own country, it would be the 5th largest polluter in the world! In hospitals, 20% of the greenhouse gas emissions come from the facility- boilers, chillers, electricity, air conditioners, but 40% comes from the hospitals’ supply chain!
Working with our clients and based on the international greenhouse gas protocol we take a stepwise approach to evaluate and reduce pollution from the supply chain. Specifically, we input the data to calculate the emissions from the top 50 vendors and the top 50 supplies purchased. This summer we are contacting those vendors to identify if they have a sustainability plan and if they have a carbon neutral commitment by product.
SION60 takes a rapid, multi-prong approach to measure and reduce pollution. With our low-cost platform and projects, we attack all 3 GHG scopes simultaneously. This lets sustainability leaders spend more time transforming the organization and less time on spreadsheets. An ROI is guaranteed, and cash grants are available.
