Our leadership team combines expertise in technology, sustainability and leadership.
Andy has been a technology leader for 23 years and leader in three start-ups. He holds a PhD from University of Texas School of Public Health. He has led Scope 1 and Scope 2 sustainability initiatives at a large health system since 2021 and is founder of greencio.org. He has done many presentations and papers on carbon reduction and completed the GHG protocol Scope 3 training. His work has produced over $1.5M in rebates and millions more in savings for a large health system. He has participated in 3 years of building efficiency “retrofit” projects in 10 million+ square feet of hospital space. He is familiar with assessments and plans to meet state and city Energy Use regulations. He is currently working with the Society for Critical Care Medicine on a Green ICU program and the American Medical Informatics Association on its Climate Workgroup.
Neal C. Hogan, PhD is the Vice Chairman of Integris Health System and dedicated to working with healthcare organizations to improve their sustainability. Neal has worked with organizations ranging from Stryker to Modern Healthcare, Atrium Health to Kaiser Permanente. He is the author of Leading on Climate Change: How Healthcare Leaders Can Stop Global Warming. Neal is the founder of Healthcare Climate Actionworks a consulting firm for health system sustainability.
Neal was a founding executive of the Advisory Board Company, where he launched the firm’s first consulting division, as well as the Nursing Leadership Academy, and the Physician Leadership Academy. He went on to be Managing Director of BDC Advisors, the leading healthcare strategy firm in the US, and developed strategies for dozens of health systems including Mass General Brigham, Chicago Medicine, Duke Medicine, and Kaiser Permanente. Neal is vice chairman of the board of INTEGRIS Health, the largest health system in Oklahoma. Neal lives with his family in New Hampshire.
Nico Brown serves as Vail Health’s Chief Strategy Officer and leader of Vail Health Innovations, an equity partner in SION60. He is Chair of Vail Health’s Sustainability Committee and oversees business development, government relations, strategic planning, payer relations, marketing, public relations and other functions. Vail Health sees the intersection of good business practices, community health and environmental stewardship as part of their sustainability strategy over the next few years. Mr. Brown began his work at Vail Health as a Physical Therapist in 2007 at Howard Head Sports Medicine, serving as its leader from 2012 to 2021. Mr. Brown completed his undergraduate degree at Emory University, graduate degree at Georgia State University and is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Mr. Brown also serves on various for profit and non-profit boards. In his free time, Mr. Brown enjoys spending time with his family, rock climbing, skiing and enjoying the outdoors.
As a Strategic Advisor to SION60, Jen Baird brings her over two decades of experience founding and leading high-potential startups to help SION60 develop and commercialize its innovative carbon reduction as a service vision. As a venture and angel-backed CEO, she raised over $75M (seed-Series C), led strategy, product development and commercialization, compensation strategy, and scaleup. Her outcomes include startups that achieved global sales and 10x revenue exits (5-6x investor returns), fast FDA De Novo and 510(k) clearances, successful HITRUST/HIPAA-compliant clinical deployments, and renewable energy power generation. Jen’s earlier career focused on operations improvement consulting, selling and leading 37 projects for Fortune 50 to middle market clients across industries plus working in finance, technology, and regulated industries. In addition, she contributes to the entrepreneurial ecosystem as a Board member, strategic advisor, CEO coach, blogger, mentor/consultant, and speaker/panelist.
Jen has received many forms of recognition over the years, to name a few – twice named Crain’s Detroit Business’ 100 Most Influential Women in Michigan as well as Top 10 Artificial Intelligence Solutions Provider.
